The NEIPA, or New England IPA, is a beer style that was developed not very long ago. The Heady Topper from The Alchemist (from Vermont) is considered the first NEIPA. The difference with 'regular' IPAs is that a New England IPA is always cloudy (due to the use of oats and a different form of filtration). This ensures that the beer has a soft and creamy mouthfeel. In addition, she has a very low bitterness, and due to dry-hopping she gets a lot of tropical fruit notes. All this makes for a beer that has become insanely popular in just a few years!
