La Trappe Quadrupel Oak Aged Batch 22 - BA Quadrupel / 11% vol / 37.5 cl.
The Batch Register about Batch 22:
Oak Aged Batch 22 is largely matured in German Single Malt barrels. This whiskey is considerably softer and less 'peated' than its Scottish counterparts, making batch 22 much smoother than previous batches matured in whiskey barrels. In addition to the malty and smoked scent, banana, vanilla, honey, apple and blossom scents can also be distinguished. The whiskey is clear but not overpowering, so the La Trappe Quadrupel remains clearly recognizable. This results in a harmonious blend of flavors, releasing aromas of almond and smoke. Batch 22 is full of flavor and very complex; with every sip new taste associations seem to emerge. The alcohol is clearly present in the aftertaste together with the bitterness of wood tannin, which lingers for some time. This batch may not be the most extreme batch, but its complexity and harmonious overall taste make it highly recommended.

La Trappe Quadrupel Oak Aged Batch 24 - BA Quadrupel / 11% vol / 37.5 cl.
The Batch Register about Batch 24:
Batch 24 presents itself in the normal amber brown Quadrupel color and has a fairly fragile head. Cherries immediately predominate in the scent and the comparison is drawn to many sweet-ripe fruits. In addition to cherries, hints of mango, banana and strawberry emerge. The scents of almond and vanilla are also recognizable as those of alcohol, caramel malt and oak. The taste is full to even bombastic, warming and challenging and is dominated by cherries. Then comes the flavors of vanilla and caramel-sweet and ends in a dry tannic bitter alcoholic aftertaste. The 'cherry touch' complements the Quadrupel flavor well, making this batch clearly different from all previous 23 batches. The special components make batch 24 highly recommended for enthusiasts.
This batch was blended in May 2016.
