The Groningen Brewery Folkingebrew started in 2017. The name Folkinge refers to the first location where they started brewing, in the garden located on the Folkingestraat. With the release of one of their first commercial beers, the Backyard DIPA, they were an instant hit in the Netherlands. This impressive IPA immediately set the tone for the quality of their beers. In the years that followed, the gentlemen have developed further in the field of IPAs and New England IPAs, and they are known as one of the best IPA brewers in the Netherlands.
In addition to IPAs, stouts and sours are also occasionally made. Sometimes in collaboration with other breweries, such as de Moerspanner.
