La Trappe Quadrupel Oak Aged Batch 28 - BA Quadrupel / 11% vol / 37.5 cl. The Batch register about Batch 28: When pouring this beer, the characteristic peated aroma of the Islay whiskey can be perceived from a distance. This rough smoked and roasted peat scent largely determines the aroma profile of this beer. The ample oak wood comes forward with the alcohol. A vanilla aroma stands out. The beer smell is only present in the background. The roasted peat aromas also stand out in the taste. The bitterness of the oak barrels and the sweetness of the Quadrupel provide a rounded and heavy whiskey flavor. The aftertaste is dominated by the wood tannins and the smoked taste remains in the mouth and throat. This batch 28 is a must for the real (Islay) whiskey lover.
